SangSaeng is published three times a year by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO.
SangSaeng (상생), a Korean word with Chinese roots, is composed of two characters: Sang (相), meaning “mutual” (each other) and Saeng (生), meaning “life.” Together, they mean “living together,” “helping each other,” which is our vision for the Asia-Pacific region. SangSaeng (相生) aims to be a forum for the constructive discussion of issues, methods and experiences in the area of Education for International Understanding. SangSaeng also seeks to promote Global Citizenship Education, which is one of the three priorities of Global Education First Initiative launched by the United Nations in 2012.
In this digital publishing (DPS) version of SangSaeng Vol.39, we explore the rich and symbolic role of colours in the cultural fabric of Asia-Pacific nations, such as through the celebration of India’s annual Holi festival or through the significance behind Korea’s traditional uses of colours, as well as other interesting and relevant topics. This digital version includes fun, interactive features to actively engage with the articles as you read them.
